About the Association
Linshom was founded to meet a real need that emerged from the ground: to provide chronic lung patients in Israel with a place where they can access reliable information, support, community, and equal partnership.
From the founding of the first patient communities in 2018 to the establishment of the association in 2022, our mission has remained one.
Because no lung patient should face their journey alone.
In 2018, we founded the first patient communities for lung patients in Israel. At first, it was a simple response to a very basic need: a place where a lung patient could ask questions, share their experience, understand what was happening to them, and meet others facing similar realities.
But it quickly became clear that this was much more than just a digital community. Behind every question was a person fighting for breath, a family trying to understand what lies ahead, a patient unsure if their treatment was right, and someone feeling that no one around truly understood what daily shortness of breath means.
Through continuous engagement with thousands of patients and their families, and driven by the urgent need for information, support, guidance, and a clear public voice, in 2022 we founded Linshom – Israel Lung Association.
The association was created to be a home for chronic lung patients in Israel, including transplant candidates, lung recipients, and their families.
We are here for people living with chronic lung diseases, including:
Communities are the beating heart of the association. Here, patients and their families can ask questions, share experiences, learn from others' journeys, and feel part of a community that truly understands their path.
We make reliable medical information accessible in simple, clear language through guides, posts, videos, webinars, expert panels, and digital content tailored for lung patients.
We connect patients with pulmonologists, respiratory physiotherapists, nurses, and other professionals to help patients get answers, understand their condition, and learn more about treatment options.
Our video podcast brings together doctors, experts, and patients for open conversations about lung diseases, treatment, coping, quality of life, and hope.
We work to raise awareness about lung patient rights, pulmonary rehabilitation, medical equipment, oxygen, advanced treatments, and essential services, and advocate with the healthcare system to ensure real needs from the ground are heard.
Through campaigns, awareness days, patient stories, videos, and collaboration with medical organizations, we bring the voice of lung patients to the forefront.
Linshom's vision is to create a reality where everyone in Israel living with a chronic lung disease receives knowledge, support, guidance, and a sense of belonging from the moment they begin dealing with their condition.
We aspire to be the central organization in Israel representing lung patients, connecting patients with experts, promoting early diagnosis, appropriate treatment, pulmonary rehabilitation, realization of rights, and improved quality of life.
